It seems to me…more and more that many of us came to this life to lead at least two lives; one before our awakening which is based on ego, separation and things of the world often focused on fitting in, doing the normal things and struggle. And then there is life after the awakening when we begin to listen and honor our soul, and our still small voice. When this happens, a whole NEW life comes alive and we begin to see everything fresh. We come into connection with our spiritual gifts, into concert with our authentic self and find a resting place within that is like nothing we’ve ever known. It is such an honor to work with individuals making this transition. I love helping them come home to themselves.
What matters to YOU is what matters, not what the world says matters, but what YOU value in your own heart and everyone has this golden information inside, everyone.
We have but one life, as far as we know and much like the bumper sticker that says; “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could”, you may not have been born knowing your passion but I would spend every breath you have finding it and then spend the rest of your life exploring it and living it the best you can.
Of course, passion can be vocation, it can be creativity, it can be family…it can be anything and it is up to each person to find it. No one can tell you, but helpers can help point, but no one can feel it for you. It is your work to do. And if you do not have the courage to look and find it then make peace with that, but oh golly, have the courage! Because living one’s passion is like living your best dream every day. It feels natural and energizing and deep and real. When living our passion, the ups and downs feel small for the joy of doing the thing is like the tonic of the soul.

The power of your life
Let your life be a blessing to others. Never underestimate your influence.
So you’re floating along, in your personal boat, in the river of your life. You’re going with the flow… calm and peaceful. Then, all of the sudden, you see a brightly colored box on the edge of the river. You’re curious, so you paddle over to the edge of the river, get out of your boat and tie it to a rock. You go over to the box and examine it. It’s quite interesting looking and you really want to see what is inside. You take the top off and out pours all sorts of problems and contentious people saying crazy things. They are pointing at you and saying unnecessary things and doing the same to each other. You easily get pulled in to the mean things they are saying to you. You defend yourself and try to stand up for others. You spend the next couple of days there, on the side of the river of your life…mucking around with all the ego and personality and pain of what came out of the box. Finally, on the morning of the third day, you’ve had enough.
You think about throwing the box into the river or burning it. You’re wondering if the way to make them all shut up is to tell them to go back in the box. Would they even listen? Late that afternoon, you wonder…what if I just got back into my boat? What if I just left them here? Would they follow me? Would they even notice? Why did I stop in the first place? This is a drag. So that night, when things have simmered down, you quietly get in your boat, hoping to leave undetected. You untie your boat and all of the sudden you’re back into the gentle flow of the river of your life. Over the next couple of days you see box after box on the shores of your river. You NOW know that those boxes are DRAMA. That’s all they are and sometimes it’s interesting to stop and get involved but most of the time, it’s just a distraction from the flow of your life. You know now that you cannot experience both at the same time: drama and flow. Which do you choose?

Be conscious of what you are feeding your mind. “You are what you eat” is also true for the mind: “You are what you think” AND “Junk in, Junk Out”. This means being aware of what you are “inputting”, such as drama, loudness, violence, sadness, etc. For a week, pay attention to what you listen to, watch, engage in…and notice if it colors your view and affects your moods. This is especially important if you are highly sensitive or “empathic” to the emotions and woes of the world.
Look at how you use your mind. Do you spend hours entertaining negative and fearful thoughts…inside your head and with others? How is this affecting your internal experience, your emotional state? Recognize you have a choice as to what you put into your mind and what you do with your mind.
Find a mental relaxation that works for you. The point of mental relaxation is to help the mind experience a period of time that is “slower” than the rest of the day. When we focus on something- draw, create, pray, listen to relaxing music or meditate, our brain waves slow down. Slowing down brain waves, decreases the mental chatter, allowing for a more peaceful mind. A little practice every day allows you to experience the differences between a chattering mind and a more peaceful mind and helps you recognize that you have a choice. There are dozens of types of meditation, so if one hasn’t worked, keep looking. Simply sitting and breathing is actually a type of meditation. Here are some that I teach: quiet, sound, walking, visualization and focused.
Start saying nice things to yourself. Studies have shown that it takes eight positive comments to overcome one negative one. The mind attaches to the negative comments because they often cause hurt which is an emotional response that creates a chemical reaction. It’s part of our hard-wiring from early on. Remember however, it’s one thing to deal with negative comments from outside (which we cannot always control), it’s another to have our own negative loop about ourselves in our own heads. Affirmations can work wonders in this area. Don’t worry if you don’t believe them just yet…it’s part of building a positive and empowering belief inside you ABOUT yourself. Nothing outside you will ever help you feel as good as loving and accepting yourself. This only begins by ceasing the negative things you say to yourself.

The Energy Leadership™ Index (E.L.I.) is a one-of-a-kind assessment that will enable you to hold up a mirror to your perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall leadership capabilities. Background: An Attitudinal Assessment
There are two main types of assessments: Personality and Attitudinal. Personality based assessments, such as Myers Briggs and D.I.S.C. are very valuable tools that pinpoint certain personality types so that people can have more of an understanding about what their strengths and weaknesses are. By understanding your personality and how it relates to what you do, you can adapt your behavior to “work with what you have,” to function effectively.
The E.L.I. is an attitudinal assessment, which is based on an energy/action model. This assessment differs from personality assessments as it is not intended to label a person and have them work well within that label. Instead, it measures your level of energy based on your attitude, or perception and perspective of your world. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. By working with a coach using the E.L.I., you can alter your attitude and perspective, make a shift in your consciousness, and increase your energy and self-leadership effectiveness.
There are no limits as to the potential growth that you can achieve. Once you realize that your level of consciousness is directly related to your actions, you can move from functioning effectively, to functioning optimally.
As part of the Energy Leadership Index assessment and debrief process, you’ll learn about the 7 levels of leadership and how much energy you currently have in the catabolic-suppressing range and in the anabolic-inspirational range. You’ll be debriefed on the findings of the assessment, and coached on how to navigate yourself to higher performance.
If you proceed on to the Energy Leadership Development System, you’ll be coached on how to become your ideal image of who you need to be as a leader for your life, situation, division, team, and/or company.
